The correct use: wood protection paint

Preparation

• The consumption of the wood protection paint is on average around 10-12 m²/l. However, this information may vary if you use thinner or apply thicker layers.
• Make sure that the processing temperature for the paint material, substrate and environment is not below 10°C; Temperatures between 15°C and 25°C are ideal. Make sure that the wood moisture content is not more than 15% and the maximum humidity for processing and drying is 65%.
• Remove sources of dust and degrease the wood thoroughly with the thinner and a rag.
• Use painter's tape to mask the areas that should not be coated.
• Stir the paint thoroughly before use.

Processing

1. If you want to thin the wood protection paint, add about 5-10% thinner and mix it well with the paint.
2. Use a paint roller, brush or cup gun with a 1.6mm nozzle to apply the wood preservative paint. Depending on the size and shape of the object to be processed, decide which tool is most suitable.
3. 1 to 2 coats are recommended to build up a sufficient protective layer. Make sure the first coat is completely dry before applying the second. The wood protection paint will be dust dry after about 1 hour, but the exact drying time depends on the humidity, room temperature and the thickness of the paint applied. Allow the paint to dry sufficiently before using the processed wood again or painting over it.
4. After about 4 hours, you can easily paint over the processed wood to achieve additional protection and an aesthetic finish. The final hardness of the wood protection paint is reached after about 7 days.
